NO BS Characters
Multicharacter, character creation, clothing, barber, tattoo and surgeon stores, outfits, job wardrobes and a spawn selector in one server-authoritative resource for Qbox, QBCore and ESX, with illenium-appearance compatibility.
One room for every character
Your characters stand in one penthouse, each at a spot of their own with its own animation, and the camera glides from one to the next as you browse. Every player previews in a private routing bucket, so nobody sees anyone else's ped, and the room is built underneath the loading screen so the hand-over has no black frame.
- Default slots per player, per-licence overrides and a hard ceiling, all in
config.lua - Extra slots granted from outside with
exports.nbs_characters:SetSlots(identifier, count) - Delete behind a typed confirmation; logout back to character select with a cooldown
- Scene and pose saved per character
Creation and the look editor
A new character gets an identity form, then a daylight creator with heritage, features, hair, face and apparel. Every edit shows on the ped the moment it is made while the server confirms it, and the server decides what each shop may change.
- Name, date of birth, nationality (list or free text), backstory and model, with age bounds and duplicate-name refusal
- Randomise and reset; camera presets, rotation and clothes-off toggles in stores
- Clothing tiles can show pictures made by the built-in capture studio, served from the resource or your own web host
- Tattoos priced per tattoo or by entry fee; hair fades; a blacklist for clothes only some jobs may wear
Stores, outfits and uniforms
Clothing, barber, tattoo and plastic surgeon stores in illenium-appearance's own config shape, opened by an E prompt, ox_target / qb-target, or a radial menu item. Checkout charges framework money, an ox_inventory item, or nothing.
- Personal wardrobe: save what you wear, update, delete, share by code, import a code, with a per-character limit
- Job and gang clothing rooms and outfits, player outfit rooms, boss-managed outfits with a boss screen
/reloadskin,/clearstuckprops,/joboutfits,/gangoutfits,/bossmanagedoutfits,/pedmenufor admins- Uniforms go on over the saved look and are never saved as it; a tracker cannot be taken off
Spawn selector and arrival
Choosing a character flies the camera out of the building to where they will spawn; the spawn screen previews each location live, then drops into the ped.
- "Where you left off" with a staleness notice, public locations, job- or ace-gated locations
- Six public locations on out of the box, all on the stock GTA map (no MLO needed): Legion Square, Pillbox Hill Medical, Sandy Shores, Paleto Bay, Vespucci Beach and LSIA Terminal
- A new character can spawn where they were created; the spawn screen can be skipped when only one place is available
- The arrival fades in only once the world is ready, with the NO BS HUD held hidden until then
Compatibility and migration
Answers as illenium-appearance and fivem-appearance (exports and events) unless a real one is running, plus qb-clothing, esx_skin and skinchanger events, so existing shops, job scripts and property resources keep working.
- Reads
playerskinsrows in the formats illenium, qb-clothing and fivem-appearance left behind /migrateskinsconverts old rows in place, with a dry run first- Uses illenium's
player_outfits,player_outfit_codesandmanagement_outfitstables column for column - Its own
nbs_character_metaandnbs_character_slotstables; never alters framework tables
Built to fail safe
One request in flight at a time with bounded timeouts, a page heartbeat with watchdogs on both sides that release NUI focus if the interface dies, focus reclaimed if another resource drops it, and a start-up doctor that names conflicts and missing pieces in the server console.
- Opt-in join diagnostics to the server console (
setr nbs_characters_diagnostics 1) - Follows the colour the player picked in NO BS HUD, live; falls back to
Config.Theme - The page never turns a string into markup
Requirements. oxmysql and ox_lib. One framework: qbx_core, qb-core or es_extended (auto-detected). bob74_ipl with its Eclipse Towers apartment enabled for the character room. Optional: no-bs-hud-v3 (accent colour), ox_target or qb-target, a radial menu, ox_inventory for item payment, screencapture for the picture studio. Stop qb-multicharacter, qbx_multicharacter, esx_multicharacter, illenium-appearance, fivem-appearance, qb-clothing, esx_skin and skinchanger.
What you can edit. config.lua, config_scene.lua, config_spawns.lua, config_appearance.lua, config_blacklist.lua, config_outfits.lua, config_shops.lua, config_capture.lua, data/peds.lua, data/tattoos.lua, data/fades.lua, locales/en.lua, and the framework, storage, compatibility and migration bridges (server/bridge.lua, server/store.lua, server/compat.lua, server/compat_esx.lua, server/migrate.lua, client/compat.lua, client/compat_esx.lua). The shop, outfit, blacklist, ped and tattoo configs use illenium-appearance's keys, so an existing config pastes in.
